About CronZeno

CronZeno is designed to empower athletes and “races among friends” organizers by providing comprehensive tools for GPX track analysis, race management, and performance comparison. From tracking individual runs to analyzing sector-specific speeds, CronZeno helps you gain deeper insights into your athletic endeavors.
CronZeno is currently a beta project. By using CronZeno in any form, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

How it Works

  • Choose or create a course, start the timer, and begin your challenge.
  • When you finish, your times are logged, and you can be ranked on leaderboards.
  • You’ll always have access to your results to monitor your progress and chase new personal records.

Our Core Goals

  1. To offer an app that lets you create and participate in virtual leaderboards with your friends in a “not-professional race”.
  2. To ensure the app is always free and works perfectly offline, giving you complete freedom and privacy. Your data stays on your device.

In the future, we will evaluate making the project’s code open source, based on the app’s effectiveness and community interest. We may also add an online mode with advanced features, which in that case could be a paid option, to offer an even more complete experience.

Many apps offer GPS tracking, workout data, and social community features with leaderboards. But as enthusiasts ourselves, we felt a strong need for a tool that is focused on racing, even in a friendly way.

For us, this means:

  • Detailed Courses: Precisely drawing a course with Start, Finish, and intermediate checkpoints for an authentic race experience.
  • Defined Race Period and Partecipants: Setting a specific period (one or more days) during which the challenge takes place and the Participants are clearly identified
  • Secure Recording: Recording the times of individual “runs” and producing GPX files that cannot be easily modified, ensuring the integrity of the results.
  • Specific Leaderboards: At the end of the period, the race closes and generates leaderboards that can be segmented by age and gender.
  • Transparent Sharing: Easily and transparently sharing data with partecipants, allowing all to analyze and improve together.
  • Privacy and Control: The race is always private. Your data stays on your device and is never shared outside the app without your explicit action.

With CronZeno, our goal is to give you the tool to do all of this. Our dream is that this app becomes a useful resource for the community of athletes.

The name CronZeno comes from two figures related to time. It’s a blend of Cronos, the Greek god of time, and Zeno of Elea, a famous philosopher. Zeno is known for his paradoxes on time, like the one about Achilles and the tortoise. The name highlights the app’s goal: to accurately measure time and acknowledges the challenges of truly precise timekeeping.
